How long will it take to get my service installed?

The average time it takes Openreach to install your service after placing the order is around two weeks. It's always best to allow at least a month if you can. We can often have you an estimated installation day the same day as the order, and a confirmed date within a few days.

What bandwidth option should I choose?

If you're lucky enough to have FTTP available, you will find that the entry-level service is enough for most offices. The 330Mbps service is excellent value for money and will be more responsive, even in busier offices. It is well worth noting the upload bandwidth, more about that below.

What's the difference between SOGEA and FTTP? Why are some of the bandwidth options listed as "Up to"?

SOGEA Internet is delivered to your street cabinet by fibre and then delivered to your property via traditional copper lines. The bandwidth of your service will depend on how far away you are from the street cabinet and the quality of the cabling, this is why these speeds are listed as “Up to”.

FTTP delivers the internet directly to your premises via Fibre. FTTP is a very reliable service and the bandwidth listed is near enough to what you will receive, although some overhead must be accounted for.

What's the difference between Mbps up and Mbps down?

To start, up stands for upload and down stands for download.

Download speed will determine how fast you can download anything from the internet to your device.

Upload speed determines how fast you can send information out to the internet.

The upload will affect remote access to your office i.e. if a VPN is used to access files on your office network, or remote viewing CCTV footage. Upload also affects the quality of phone calls for the person at the remote end.

Will a router be included? Will this service provide Wi-Fi throughout my building?

We don’t include a router as standard. This is because we don’t believe one size router fits all. Some offices require a basic (but secure) router with built-in WI-FI, others require more complex routers, or multiple WI-FI access points throughout their building. If we are quoting you for a solution, we will include a suitable router to suit your requirements.

Will there be any mid-contract price increases?

No, for the services we list on this page, there won't be any mid-term contract price increases.

Who is Openreach?

Openreach is a company owned by BT. They connect you to your internet provider by their network of cables.

What is a Static IP?

Every internet connection has a unique address on the internet. For many standard connections, this address changes periodically. Obtaining a static IP address typically incurs an additional charge. However, with Techforce, we provide a static IP address as a standard feature. A static IP address is often necessary for remote connections to your office, facilitating both remote work and remote support.

Why purchase my broadband from Techforce?

It makes sense to have your broadband provided by someone who knows you and your setup and understands your requirements.

If your service fails you don’t want to be left trying to figure out if it is your internet service, your equipment on site, or spend endless time on support calls to your internet provider trying to convince them there is a problem. We have comprehensive tools available to us to monitor your service, perform tests and fault finding, and to directly book and engineer from Openreach if required.
